In a nutshell
Attention is a macOS focus app operated by an individual in Taiwan. It uses AI to judge whether you're on task, and that judgement can be wrong. It actively blocks and redirects other apps and websites, so save your work. Paid plans auto-renew and are sold and billed by our payment processor; you can cancel anytime and keep access until the period ends. The app is provided “as is.”
1. Who we are
Attention (“the app”) is provided by Yan Cheng Chen, an individual sole proprietor in Taiwan, trading as “Attention.” These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. Questions about these Terms can be sent to privacy@tryattention.app.
2. Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Attention on macOS. You keep ownership of your own content — your tasks, notes, and history.
3. Subscriptions
Paid plans are monthly and auto-renew until cancelled. Pricing is set per region by our payment processor (representative pricing is NT$199 in Taiwan and US$6.49 in the United States; your actual charge depends on your region). Subscriptions are sold and billed by our payment processor acting as Merchant of Record. You can cancel anytime through their customer portal — the link is provided in the app and in your purchase-confirmation email — and your access continues to the end of the paid period.
4. Refunds
Refunds are handled by our payment processor under their own policy. We do not offer a separate refund guarantee.
5. Free tier
The free tier provides 25 minutes of focus time per day. We may change, limit, or discontinue the free tier at any time.
6. No guarantee of accuracy
Attention uses AI to judge whether you're on task, and that judgement can be wrong — we call this a “Misjudgment.” The app is provided for your personal productivity only, is not professional advice, and we do not guarantee that it correctly classifies your activity.
7. The app interferes with other software
To keep you on task, Attention uses macOS Accessibility and AppleScript automation to block and redirect other apps and websites. We are not liable for blocked or lost work, interference with other software, or data loss. You are responsible for saving your work.
8. Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer, abuse, or resell the app, and don't use it to violate anyone else's rights.
9. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or end your access for abuse or non-payment.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the laws of Taiwan allow, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the period giving rise to the claim.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
